What the extension can and cannot do

This page is GrowedditX's pre-install disclosure. The side panel shows the same disclosure on its first run, and again whenever these practices change, and does not offer to pair your browser until you select I understand.

Help a signed-in GrowedditX user write and reply on LinkedIn and X in their own voice, and save the people they choose from what is on their screen, without acting on their behalf.

What it does

  • Side panel with today's queue, keyboard shortcuts and a daily safety meter that keeps you at a human pace.
  • Composer check on LinkedIn and X: hook meter, see-more preview, style flags, save as a draft to your workspace.
  • Reply assistant next to the comment box: three drafts in your voice. Insert one, edit it, and press the network's button yourself.
  • Save the people in a list you open: reactions and comments on a post, followers, attendees, people search results, or the profile on screen. Only the rows already on screen when you click Save, up to 50 at a time. Nothing is scrolled, clicked or loaded for you.
  • Profile card with your notes and past conversations, and a small label on posts from people you already track.
  • Fill the composer with a post you approved in your workspace, formatted for the network, and tell the workspace when you posted it. You still press Post.
  • Scan the timeline you are looking at: the posts on screen ranked as reply openings, with the reasons. Save a post to your swipe file, a person to People, or a pick to Engage, one click each.
  • Record your own follower count from your profile when you press Snapshot, and see your pace against the goals you set.
  • Watch keeps a list of the posts and pages you pin. You open them yourself; nothing is read in the background or on a schedule, and the extension never opens tabs.
  • Never likes, follows, connects, comments, messages or posts for you, never clicks for you, and never scrolls a list to load more of it. Never reads your cookies and never calls LinkedIn's or X's internal APIs.

Permissions it asks for

  • storageKeeps this browser's pairing, a queue of captures waiting to sync and the last display settings on your device.
  • alarmsRetries queued captures once a minute until the app confirms them, and once a minute sends which on-page tips you saw, used or dismissed. It never schedules a page read.
  • sidePanelShows today's queue, the safety meter and pairing in Chrome's side panel.
  • host permissionsRuns only on www.linkedin.com and x.com to show the composer check, reply assistant, capture and profile card, and talks only to your GrowedditX workspace and its API for pairing, config and syncing what you saved.

What we collect, and when

  • Text you type in a LinkedIn or X composer, only when you click Save to workspace
  • The text of the post you clicked, only when you click Draft 3 replies
  • Names, profile links, headlines and comment text of the people visible in a reactions list or comments you opened on your own post, only when you click Save
  • Names, profile links, headlines and comment text of the people in a list you opened (reactions, comments, followers, attendees, people search) or the profile on screen, only the rows already on screen when you click Save, up to 50 at a time
  • The link and label of a post or page, only when you click Watch this to pin it
  • The profile link of the profile you have open, only when you open the GrowedditX card on it, to look it up in your workspace
  • The visible name, headline and profile link of a person, only when you click Save person
  • When you insert or copy a reply: the kind of action, the network, the post link, the post author's name and profile link, and the reply text you chose, for the safety meter and your history with that person
  • Which workspace post you filled into the composer and, when you press I posted this, that you posted it, with the post link if you give one
  • The author, text and counts of a post, only when you press Save on it or choose it from a timeline scan; the scan itself reads the cards on screen and sends nothing
  • Your own follower count and profile link, only when you press Snapshot followers on your own profile
  • The comment you typed in a comment or reply box, scored on this device only when reply check is on, and sent with the post's text to GrowedditX and its model provider only when you click Check with AI
  • The daily brief, built from your workspace data (your pace, ready posts, warm list and posting history) and the authors and counts of the openings on screen, once a day when the brief is on
  • A promise you confirm from your own comment, such as send the script to Priya, saved as text with the person's profile link and the post link, only when you press Save
  • Which on-page tips were shown, used or dismissed, with the network and the kind of page, never the page's content

What we never collect

  • Cookies or passwords
  • Browsing history
  • Private messages
  • Anything from pages you did not act on
  • Anything read in the background, on a schedule or from a tab you did not open
  • Keystrokes, mouse movement or scrolling

Sharing

Data goes only to your GrowedditX workspace. It is not sold and not used for advertising. AI drafting sends the clicked post's text to our model provider under its no-training terms, and so do a reply check when you click Check with AI and the daily brief, with the inputs listed above. The extension fetches its settings from GrowedditX at most every 15 minutes, your People list at most every 10 minutes while a post is on screen, and your profile links, safety meter, ready posts, warm list, swipe file and growth figures when a section needs them; these requests carry no page data. Every on-page feature stays off until you acknowledge this disclosure and pair a workspace, and switches off if the settings cannot be refreshed for 24 hours.

Retention

Recorded replies (inserted or copied) are kept while your workspace exists and are deleted with it, as are the people, drafts, swipes, follower snapshots and goals you saved. On your device, the extension keeps its pairing, its settings and a queue of captures waiting to sync; every queued capture, sent or not, is removed from this browser 24 hours after you queue it. Disconnecting removes the pairing and this browser's queued captures.

Control

Disconnect the browser from the side panel: it always forgets the pairing on this browser, and revokes the device in the app when it can reach GrowedditX. If it cannot, revoke the device in Settings, Devices. Deleting a person or workspace in the app deletes what the extension saved.

A known limitation

  • WXT, the framework the extension is built with, dispatches a CustomEvent on the page document when a content script starts. A page script that already knows the extension ID (public once the store listing exists) can detect that GrowedditX is installed, and can dispatch that same event with a different message ID to stop the running content script until the next page load. The event carries no user, workspace or page data, and nothing can be posted to or read from GrowedditX through it.

Affiliation

GrowedditX is not affiliated with LinkedIn or X. It is an independent browser extension that reads only what your own browser already shows on the page you have open, when you act.
